In this space we tell the origin story of the foundation of the digital world we now find ourselves living in. Underneath the searches, the video calls, the shows, the memes—the ephemeral—is a substrate made of concrete and steel, fiber and copper, aluminum and silicon—the physical—that spans the globe, making it all possible. Here you can see this substrate up close from the perspective of those building it, shown through their creative lens, and get to know the originators.
